A Dhaka court on Wednesday directed the authorities concerned to exhume the body of the Lux-star Sumaya Azgar Raha, who reportedly committed suicide, by Thursday.

Executive Magistrate Begum Shamim Banu was assigned for leading the exhuming operation.

District magistrate Abul Fazol Mir passed the order around 12:00pm on Wednesday on the basis of a plea filed by Mohammadpur police station SI Anwar Hossain.

While talking to banglanews, Begum Shamim Banu said, “Her body will be exhumed anytime on Thursday after consulting with the investigation officer.”

On Sunday, Raha’s father Ali Azgar filed an unnatural death (UD) case with Mohammadpur Police Station.

On Monday, Investigation Officer Anwar Hossain filed a petition with Metropolitan Magistrate Joynab Begum seeking order to exhume the body of Raha.

Later, Joynab Begum ordered to send the document to Dhaka District Magistrate for taking necessary steps.

Earlier, model and actress Sumaiya Azgar Raha’s (20) reportedly committed suicide at their Mohammadpur residence in the city on Friday night.

Later, family members buried her at Azimpur Graveyard without informing the police. — banglanews24
